The bakery counter.The catering side.
Palate Pleasers runs both of them out of 1023 Bay Ridge Avenue. This page is what that looks like on the screen most people are actually holding — one thumb, one hand, no zooming to find the phone number.

One business, two things people arrive looking for.
Somebody walking in for the counter and somebody calling about catering are not on the same errand, and they should not land on the same wall of text. On the live build these become two pages. Here they sit side by side so you can see the shape of it.
The bakery counter
Not one item is named on this page. We were not told what is in the case, so we did not write a list, and we did not print a price next to something we invented. That whole block is yours the moment you read it out.
What the page does do is put the counter first, above the fold, with the phone number attached to it — because that is the order the questions actually come in.
The catering side
Menus, minimums, how far ahead you need notice, what a package covers — none of it appears here, because none of it was ours to write. A caterer’s page lives or dies on those details being right, and a guess is worse than a blank.
On the live build this is its own page, with its own inquiry path, so a catering question never has to compete with counter traffic.
What is answering to your name right now.
This is a demo, not the live site. Everything below was read off the site that is online today — no interpretation, no embellishment, just what is sitting there.
-
The footer line
It reads ©Copyright 2005-2026, Palate Pleasers, Inc. A visitor deciding whether a place is still worth calling reads that line without meaning to.
-
Fixed, desktop‑only layout
There is no mobile version. On a phone the page does not reflow to fit the screen, it just gets smaller — which is where most of the people looking for you are.
-
Flat, pre‑CMS pages
The bakery page sits at
/_pages/bakery.htm— the flat file format typical of mid‑2000s site builders. Nothing behind it makes an edit easy.
Someone deciding tonight is deciding on a phone, and they are judging the page before they ever dial the number on it.
Why we picked Palate Pleasers for this demoBuilt to hold your hours the day you send them.
The rows are here and the values are blank. We do not publish an opening time we have not been given directly, and we do not fill a gap with a plausible‑looking guess.
- Monday—
- Tuesday—
- Wednesday—
- Thursday—
- Friday—
- Saturday—
- Sunday—
Left blank on purpose
- Opening hours — to be confirmed with you, not copied from a directory.
- Anything from the case or the catering menu, and any price beside it.
- Any email address, second phone line, or social account we could not verify.
- Reviews, ratings, awards, or a single line of customer praise.
Every one of those is a five‑minute fill once you confirm it. None of them is worth being wrong about on a page carrying your name.
goes here on the live build. No pin has been dropped
on a coordinate we would have had to guess.
1023 Bay Ridge Avenue, Eastport.
Annapolis, Maryland 21403. The address and the phone number below are the two things a first‑time visitor needs, and they are the first two things on this page.

The counter moved on. The website did not.
Nothing on this mockup was invented. Fill in the blanks we left open and it stops being a demo.
